The Week in Travel: A New Caribbean Hotel, A Pop Up Hot Chocolate Shop …

It’s Friday, and that means it’s time to round up what’s happening in the world of travel. Here are the things we are all talking about right now.

Hotels

The Hotel Garibaldi Blu opened in Florence at a great location on Piazza Santa Maria. Aimed at millennials (the theme of the hotel is jeans – like denim jeans, with a blue color scheme.) The property has 22 stylish rooms with vintage-style and retro furniture. The hotel is also connected to Hotel Rosso 23, its fashionable sister hotel. Rates start at $124 per night.

Another hotel catering to millennial tastes is the new Amba Charing Cross in London. The rooms (around $300 a night) are refurbished, have smart TVs, come with iPads, and the company also claims the hotel has “the world’s fastest, free unlimited Wifi.”

Belle Mont Farm in Kittian Hill, Saint Kitts is set to open Dec. 12. The design of the 91 rustic yet luxurious guesthouses (with cool outdoor showers) was inspired by traditional island homes. There is a golf-course, a spa, and a farm-to-table restaurant. Rooms start at $2,250 for double occupancy (including meals and certain amenities).

There’s another Nobu hotel coming! The company behind the original Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, announced plans for Nobu Hotel at Eden Rock Miami Beach. The newest brainchild of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert DeNiro will have a similar “hotel within a hotel” concept and is scheduled to open next year.

The Norman has opened in Tel Aviv. The boutique hotel located in the heart of the historic city has 20 rooms and 30 suites in 1920s style, and features Israeli artwork through the public areas. There are also two restaurants, an infinity pool, and a spa.

It’s that time of year for the Revere Hotel Boston Common’s Pop up hot chocolate spot, Pop it Like it’s Hot. The gourmet shop – serving gourmet flavors like Salted Caramel Crunch cocoa – is open every Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. until Dec. 26. The drinks are free, but donations are accepted and will be given to local charities.

Say hello to JetBlue, Cleveland. The company announced it is launching non-stop service between Boston and Cleveland’s Hopkins International Airport on April 30.

Festivals

Tickets for the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas are now on sale. The festival, which features electronic dance music, art, rides, and more, will take place June 19-21, 2015. Three-day passes start at $329 and go up to $699 for VIP tickets.
