‘Travel insurer won’t pay for our £7789 cancelled cruise’
DH, Bucks
Around the time I contacted Staysure the £7,789 due to you was paid, less £65 for each excess and £25 each for air passenger duty.
Staysure says: “There is a process for underwriters to validate and approve claims and this includes confirmation of records from the GP.
“These were requested and subsequently progress chased. This process is in place to ensure fair and proper review of cases for the benefit of all customers. We trust this explains the timescale between claim and settlement.”
By the time you received the money you were very poorly. Whatever the whys and wherefores, swifter action on the claim could have alleviated some anxiety at such a difficult time.
