Travel Tip: The World’s Biggest New Cruise Ships

caribbeanThere’s no doubt that cruising is getting bigger in the travel space. I mean that literally. The new cruise ships on the horizon are larger than ever.

Right now, Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world. It holds a whopping 5,400 passengers, boasts 21 swimming pools, and even has its own replica of Central Park.

Its sister ship, the Anthem of the Seas, will start sailing next spring.

Carnival Cruise Lines just started building its biggest ship ever. You’ll have to wait until spring of 2016 to see the Carnival Vista, but it’s going to be pretty wild.

Even older ships are getting upgraded. The Carnival Freedom just underwent dry dock—which means it was taken out of the water for upgrades, including similar features as the newer ships: everything from a Dr. Seuss program for kids to a ton of new restaurants and entertainment for the grownups.

If you prefer smaller spaces, Holland America, which usually carries about 1,600 passengers, is building its new ship: the Koningsdam. This one will carry “only” 2,650 passengers.
